John Sim makes it to the N.H.L
|
John Sim, a New Glasgow born hockey player, has finally made it to the ''Big Leagues''. Due to a couple of injuries in the Dallas Stars line up, Sim got his first taste of playing in the National Hockey League he will remaine there for the rest of the playoffs. As of now Sim has played five games with the Dallas Stars club and is proving to coaches and managers that he wants to play with Dallas next season. In his five games, John has 1 goal and 101 shifts for a total of 69 minutes on the ice. He also has 14 hits, 2 giveaways, and 1 takeaway. He won 50% of his faceoffs as well. Dallas is on the way to the Division finals and Sim got a start, in the first game. He didn't play The last couple, but he will likely be back in the line up this week some time.

#99 decides to hang up the skates :(

As you may have already heard (its only the biggest thing in hockey history) Wayne Gretzky has decided that his time has come. After 20 years and four different teams and over 61 N.H.L records he is hanging up the skates. "I feel so lucky to be able to play in the NHL," the sport's greatest player said. "I've been so fortunate to play with some of the greatest players, against guys I admired so much, like the best player I ever played against Mario Lemieux ... my teammates and, of course, the best player I ever played with, Mark Messier. Gretzky is said to be enjoying retirement and is said to be watching plenty of baseball and doing alot of golfing
